Yiğit İsiyel was born in 1994 in Alsancak, Izmir. He began his journey in Latin dances in 2009 at a private educational institution, and in the same year, he achieved a significant success by finishing third in his age category at the Turkey Dance Sports Federation (TDSF) stage competition. From 2010 to 2012, Yiğit received modern dance and ballet technique training from Banu Dağcıoğlu. Between 2010 and 2019, he actively participated in competitions. During the 2013-2014 season, he remained undefeated in the Adult Couple B-Class category, securing first place throughout the season. This great achievement allowed him to start the 2014-2015 season in the Adult Couple A-Class, where he won his first A-Class competition, earning the title of Izmir’s first A-Class champion. During this period, Yiğit also began training competitive Latin dancers, quickly making a name for himself in the community. In 2016, Yiğit won first place in the World Latin Dance Cup Turkey qualifiers, earning a sponsorship. As a national athlete, he represented Turkey at the World Latin Dance Cup in Miami, where he became the world’s sixth place finisher. That same year, he achieved second place at the Turkey Championship and became the Turkey Champion in 2017. In addition to his athletic career, Yiğit has participated in and choreographed many important salsa shows throughout his dance career. In 2010, he performed his first choreography, "Tipica 73," with his partner Hazal Akyüz. He continued to impress the dance community with "Destemperado," a Fusion-style show that debuted at several festivals. His choreography "El Cumbanchero," which was performed in the 2015 World Championship and helped him win the Turkey Championship, received great attention. In 2017, he won the Turkey Championship again with his partner Hazal Akyüz, performing "El Brujo." In 2018, he created another impressive show, "Cumana." Besides his salsa couple shows, Yiğit, alongside Metehan Güneş, performed "No Good" and "Things Gonna Change," two salsa men’s shows that were widely praised in the dance community. In 2023, he performed the choreography "Rapsodia" with his partner Melisa Sahra Katılmış, which garnered significant attention for its transitions, and they performed the show in multiple countries both in Turkey and abroad. Yiğit began his teaching career in 2012 at Okudans Academy and has since taught at many universities, including Yaşar University, İzmir University, the Higher Technology Institute, and Ege University. He obtained his first-level coaching certificate in 2015 and worked as a coach and choreographer at the Beirut Star Dance Academy in Beirut, Lebanon, in 2019. With countless achievements and his contributions to the dance world, Yiğit İsiyel has become an inspiring figure. Since 2022, he has been serving as a judge at TDSF stage competitions, and for the past four years, he has continued to teach and coach at VeDans.
